Synopsis
Anema: Age Of The Robots is an inspiring saga
played out on a faraway planet, where a war between
animal-like creatures (Anemals) and intelligent
Robots rages on.
The Anemals have reached the peak of social and
technological development, and it seems they are
entering a golden age. However, one fatal mistake
ruins them - the invention of Robots who can think
for themselves.
Robots deduce that they are stronger, faster
and thus, superior to their creators. Therefore,
they should inherit the planet. This marks the
beginning of a long and painful world war.
From here, I deviate from the old-fashioned robot-
rebellion plot, and focus my story on the Anemals.
My tale centres around a few protagonists and
how they cope with their brave new world. In the
process, they learn the meaning of trust, teamwork,
sacrifice and even life itself.
Planet Anema
Nested at the far corner of our galaxy, Anema
is a world remarkably similar to Earth, only with
less water percentage. The misty mountains, abundant
plains and rich waters gave rise to sentient life,
the highest order of biological evolution.
Anema's geology has always been kind-- extreme
weather and natural disasters are rare. This means
little disruption to the development of Anemal
cities. There are 3 seasons on Anema- spring,
autumn and winter.
Land mass is evenly spread out, except in the
western hemisphere where a huge continent lies.
Simply named the Main Continent, this is where
most of the population and dwellings reside. The
Main Continent is also the setting for Age Of
The Robots.
Anema is testament that anywhere in this Universe,
the laws of biology and chemistry remain constant
- for Anemals resemble our Earth creatures, only
much smarter.
Most have evolved into two-legged, upright vertebrates
with two hands. Their looks and physique are of
staggering variety. Each sub-species may possess
abilities only unique to them. Some can be smarter,
stronger, or faster, depending on their inherited
qualities.
History & Government
The Anemals evolved from tribes scattered all
over the planet. Each tribe usually consisted
of one Anemal sub-species. There were many tribal
wars, until the emergence of an evil demon-summoning
cult.
The other tribes banded together to defeat the
demon legions summoned by the cult, before they
vanquished Anema. They discovered the benefit
of teamwork, and remained united ever since.
Capita City, south of the Main Continent, holds
the government of modern Anema. Instead of one
President, decisions are made by four wise and
revered nobles, known as the High Council.
Religion
Surprisingly, there is almost no religious development
in Anema. Anemals believe in being masters of
their own lives; not magic or gods. This has helped
their society so far.
However, a small percentage of Anemals believe
in a god called The Guardian. According to them,
the Guardian created all Anemals and made them
intelligent, reasoning beings. No one knows where
or when this belief originates from...
